This year was my first year. I’m admittedly a little nervous about dressing up in costume purely for donating blood. So I decided upon a low-effort costume that can be passed off as casual wear. I threw on my bear hat and went off to donate. I showed up come Sunday, and it turns out that they didn’t have enough volunteers to accept me and several other donors. I rescheduled for the next available blood drive and was ready to donate the very next day. Successful first attempt!
Despite also eating a very hearty meal later that night, I still found myself so fatigued I struggled through my workout session the following day. Lesson learned, gotta plan these far earlier in advance to make room for any hiccups.
